Charles Greig – impressive jewelry from Johannesburg
In 1894, the young Scot Charles Greig arrived in South Africa, determined to make a name for himself in a country where the lure of gold and diamonds offered enormous opportunities.
He traveled inland to the then small mining town of Johannesburg, where he founded Charles Greig Jewelers in 1899. The name grew into a brand that, more than a century later, and led by the fifth generation of the Greig family, is recognized worldwide as a supplier of handmade jewelry and high-quality watches.
Charles Greig jewelry can be found under the provenance: “From a South African private collection.”
