From the collection of a wine collector

From a private German collection, amassed between 1980 and 2000, we offer a very impressive selection of wines with a focus on classic French Bordeaux wines.

Some notable names include:

Lot number 2314: Twelve bottles of red wine, Château Lafite Rothschild, Grand Vin, 1985

Château Lafite Rothschild ranks among the absolute top Bordeaux wines and is one of the five renowned Premier Grand Cru Classé from the Médoc. The estate is located in Pauillac, north of Bordeaux. Lafite’s history dates back to the 17th century, but since the 19th century, the château has been closely associated with the Rothschild banking family. Under their stewardship, Lafite became a global symbol of prestige and refinement. The Grand Vin de Lafite Rothschild is the estate’s flagship wine. The wine is usually made of Cabernet Sauvignon (approximately 70–80%), supplemented with Merlot, and sometimes small amounts of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Lafite is known for its elegant, almost silky texture and refined tannins. Typical aromas include blackcurrant, cedar, tobacco, violets, and sometimes graphite. The wine has excellent aging potential and is considered one of the most prestigious and sought-after wines in the world.

Lot numbers 2303 and 2318: Twelve bottles of red wine, Château Latour, Premier GCC, 1980.

Château Latour is also one of the five Premier Grand Cru Classé of the Médoc, located in Pauillac, Bordeaux. It is a powerful, classic wine with a focus on Cabernet Sauvignon, complemented by Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot. Latour’s Grand Vin has aromas of cassis, blackcurrant, tobacco, cedar, and occasional stony notes, with a structure of tight, ripe tannins. Latour is often considered the most powerful and serious of the top Pauillac wines, with a reputation for perfection, elegance, and exceptional aging potential.

Lot number 2308: Twelve bottles of red wine.

Château Mouton Rothschild is also a Premier Grand Cru Classé of the Médoc and is known for its exceptional red wines, renowned for their depth, complexity, and ability to age for decades. The wines are made primarily from Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot. Each vintage of Château Mouton Rothschild has a unique label, designed by an artist, including some very famous ones such as Picasso, Dalí, and Chagall. This tradition began in 1945 and makes the bottles not only a delight for the taste buds but also for the eye. The label of the 2002 wine was designed by Russian graphic artist and illustrator Ilya Kabakov. It features an intriguing black and white design titled “OKHO” (window in Russian). Behind the glass of the bottle, the artist depicts another world; Countless wings carry the drinker joyfully to the realm of dreamy bliss, the allegory of a great wine.
